First, Fieldhouse’s Eastern IPA
Next, the wonderfulness made by my girlfriend
Now for Twin Sails Space Armadillo
Maybe a Cuvée des Jacobins after for good measure

Love me a good beer......But tell me bout that stereo?

Which one?

Right? Do I see both a coffin stereo and misplaced Sansui directly in front of a speaker.

How do IPAs pair with vegetables and salads? I try to only have IPAs with white sauces.

First picture. I had one until it died that my Dad had previously used as his garage unit for like 20 years. At which point it was already likely 30+ years old because it was originally my grandfathers.

Oh that’s our little Sansui 210. It was given to us by my gf’s dad, it probably belonged to his parents first, it’s from sometime in the 70s. We have it running a pair of Canada-only Realistic Optimus speakers that I got for free. Do you still have yours around? It’s possible it could be revived with new capacitors, that’s usually all you need to change in most old Sansuis.

It wasn’t a bad pairing, not the best though. Would’ve been smarter to have something with less hops, but it was a pretty mild IPA and the veggies had a lemon dressing so it still worked

Was that double more for halfway through the meal instead of an after dinner refresher? Lemon can make things hell with all the acidity.

The double is still being enjoyed, the eastern was with dinner. For a double its not a very high IBU and everything is going quite well so far

Pretty similar lineage then. Sadly, its probably been at least 10 years since I gave up on the deck I am talking about. Older me would have figured out how to revive it.

Ah, oh well. If you decide you want it back, similar ones can be had for very little money. They aren’t powerhouses, but they have great character and a clean yet warm sound. Powerful Sansuis are a bigger investment unless you’re lucky like me and my gf

Came for the beer, stayed for the Sansui. I have to find me a new receiver soon... I blew up my H/K 740 Twin Powered and gave it away a few years ago. Dumb move.

Enjoyed all Hearthstone’s beers (except their Cucumber Sour. Too much cucumber for my taste). This weekend I went to the new brewery/room.
The good:
The staff is very new, but service is good enough.
The space is great. Grand/large, with very good acoustics. Overheard that all the tables are from a single tree, and to my eye were beautiful.
A full bar.
Good food. Looked like a great place to close in a group on a Saturday night.
The bad:
Their American Pale was bad. Bad, bad, bad. Not only lacking in character, the alcohol was non-existent. Tap water now drinks like a meal.

Oh right, they moved into Red Trucks old location. Cool! Those tables sound excellent, I’ll have to check that place out. I’ve never had a Hearthstone beer now that I think about it.
I was at Strathcona last night, I’m looking forward to when they get more than just a tasting room license
Very sold beer, and very impressive for being about 3 months old. The whole place is gorgeous, lovely attention to detail.
I’ll be sure to have water instead of that American pale haha
